(MILWAUKEE, WI)– March 26, 2014– Dr. Michael R. Lovell was unanimously elected the 24th president of Marquette University by the Marquette Board of Trustees at a special Board meeting earlier today. As the university’s first lay president, he will succeed Interim President Robert A. Wild, S.J. Lovell will take office on Aug. 1, 2014.

In Memoriam: Let us pray in thanksgiving for the life of our brother, Fr. Jeffrey L. Klaiber, SJ (CDT, applied PERU), who died just before noon (EST) on March 4, 2014, in La Clinica Stella Maris in Lima, Peru due to complications following recent heart surgery. May he rest in peace.
