Fr. Benjamin Urmston, SJ, has been missioned to pray for the Church and the Society at Colombiere Center in Clarkston, Mich.


Fr. Thomas Chillikulam, SJ, has been named vice-superior of Gonzaga House in Chicago.
Fr. Mark Henninger, SJ, has been named vice-superior of Oak Park Jesuit Residence in Illinois.

Fr. Lawrence Ober, SJ, has been named acting superior of the Jesuit Novitiate of St. Alberto Hurtado in St. Paul, Minn.

Fr. Mark Scalese, SJ, has been named vice-superior of Arrupe House in Chicago.


Fr. James Bretzke, SJ, will serve as a professor of theology at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio

Fr. Phillip Cooke, SJ, has been named pastor of Gesu Catholic Church in Detroit.

Fr. Peter Etzel, SJ, has been named associate pastor of Gesu Catholic Church in Detroit.

Fr. Robert Flack, SJ, will offer spiritual direction at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Fr. Gregory Hyde, SJ, has been named associate pastor of Church of the Gesu in University Heights, Ohio.

Fr. Stephen Krupa, SJ, will serve as co-director for Seminars in Ignatian Formation.

Fr. Thomas Lawler, SJ, has been named retreat director at Demontreville Jesuit Retreat House in Lake Elmo, Minn.

Fr. Ross Pribyl, SJ, will serve as associate director of campus ministry and teach at Marquette University High School in Milwaukee.

Fr. Ed Schmidt, SJ, has been named associate pastor of Bellarmine Chapel in Cincinnati.

May 28, 2020 — The global pandemic has forced everyone to go digital. Spiritual direction — confidential, guided discernment of God — has not stopped. Rather, just like the persons who employ the Exercises, spiritual direction has pivoted online.

May 19, 2020 — A group of Ignatian colleagues in northeast Ohio are dedicated to sharing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. They developed a unique Ignatian Spirituality Collaborative to strengthen their practice and impact in the region.

May 18, 2020 — May marks the fifth anniversary of the publication of Laudato Si’. Through this landmark encyclical, Pope Francis called the Church and all people to transform our relationship with creation.
