Through my experiences with Jesuits and their partners, I began to learn what “solidarity” meant and that it came with great challenges, but also with great potential for joy. Coming to see someone in another place as your brother or sister instead of “them”, changes your view of the world. If you let it, you can be liberated by the opportunity to be part of a global family.

Jesuit Alumni and Friends of Chicago Featured Christopher Kerr

Over 120 Jesuit alums were in attendance to hear Chris Kerr, executive director, Ignatian Solidarity Network, on June 8, 2015 at the Union League Club of Chicago. Event attendees are grateful to Chris for his willingness to speak at short notice as the original speaker, Dr. Linda LeMura, president of Le Moyne College, had travel delays and was unable to attend.
Chris Kerr is an alum of Walsh Jesuit High School and John Carroll University, both in Ohio. He joined the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) in 2011 and brought over 10 years of experience in human rights advocacy and Catholic education. Prior to ISN, he coordinated international immersion and social justice programs for John Carroll University’s campus ministry office. Kerr speaks regularly at campuses and parishes about social justice education and advocacy, Jesuit mission, and many human rights and justice issues. To learn more, visit ignatiansolidarity.net
